THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL COMMITS TO INTENSIFY THE COLLABORATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR TO BOOST ACTIVE EMPLOYMENT POLICIES
The Mayor has expressed his gratitude to the Regional Minister for his involvement in health and safety matters which are of concern for the municipality.
The Mayor of Calvià has expressed his gratitude to the Regional Minister of Labour for his involvement in workplace health matters which are of concern for the municipality.
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, held a meeting with the Regional Minister for Labour, Commerce and Industry, Iago Negueruela, in a first meeting in which it has been exposed the will of both institutions to collaborate in subjects related to Employment.
The Mayor has expressed the necessity of the Town Hall to, from the IFOC, start up actions in collaboration with the Regional Government, as the municipality comes from practically a situation of minimums in active employment policy matters, just in a moment when they need more this type of policies. In this sense, he has highlighted the good harmony amongst both institutions and the will of working jointly, in employment and training fields either with youths or adults, with the help of the Regional Ministry.
Alfonso Rodríguez has reiterated his concern for one of the subjects which affects specially to Calvià as a tourist municipality, the workplace health and the necessity that the Estate admits as a labour disease the illnesses that the chambermaids suffer after many years of profession. In this sense, ha has confirmed a total receptiveness by the Regional Government.
Finally, he thanked the Regional Minister for the start up of control programmes to ensure the employment quality of the employees in the Balearic Islands, and, specially in the municipality of Calvià.
The Calvià Town Hall's Deputy Mayor for Economy, Employment and Innovation, Mª Carmen Iglesias, the Director General of Employment and Economy, Llorenç Pou, and the Director General of Employment, Social Economy and Workplace Health, Isabel Castro, were also at the meeting.
