The Mayor of Calvià visited, a few days ago, the Justice of the Peace of Calvià premises and its incumbent, Fernando Rodríguez, who explained him the activities udertaken by this department, as well as the main necessities of the centre. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor for General Services and Security, Andreu Serra.
The Justice of the Peace of Calvià resolved in 2014 a total of 5.972 issues, of which 1.402 (24,21%) were criminal matters whereas the rest, 4.390 (75,79%), were civil affairs.
From the total amount of criminal matters resolved during last year, there were 1.289 judicial cooperation requests and 113 minor-offense trials. With regards to civil affairs, there were 3.733 judicial cooperation requests, 96 conciliation acts, 1 verbal judgement, and 560 other nature matters.
The judicial cooperation request from a court to another of the same degree is the most common way of resolution either in civil affairs (85,03%) or criminal matters (91,94%).
Also, a total of 774 entries were registered during last year 2014. Specifically, 303 births, 234 marriages, 109 divorces and 128 deaths.
On the other hand, it is also to be highlighted the processing of approximately between 4.500 and 5.000 certifications.
The Justice of the Peace are judicial bodies which are in charge of resolving issues considered as 'minor' in the municipalities of more than 7.000 inhabitants who do not count on a court of first instance and instruction.
