The IFOC's manager, Darío Espallargas, has participated in the Business Forum of the second Employment and Solidary Entrepreneurship Launcher of Calvià.

Business Forum of the II Launcher of Calvià.

The IFOC's manager, Darío Espallargas; the Director of Territorial Coordination of Fundación Telefónica, Joan Cruz; and the Launchers' programme technical of the Foundation Santa María la Real, Marta Costa, have inaugurated today in Palmanova the Business Forum of the II Employment and Solidary Entrepreneurship Launcher of Calvià.

The gathering's main aim is to make known the project and the professional profiles of the members, thus facilitating the dialogue, the interaction and the direct contact amongst the young unemployed and the businessmen.

The Launchers' project consists in gathering a team of active and solidary young unemployed with the will of finding a job (either as a self employed or as an employee) while they work jointly sharing commitments and skills in order to reach their goal: achieve their integration in the labour market according to their individual competencies and profiles.

The Launchers are formed by people with a solidary spirit, willing to work together and undertake a dynamic and social task until reaching their objectives learning how to confront with the journey's challenges and thus find the desired job. A coordinator accompanies them working as a 'coach' supporting the team members, reinforcing their competencies and helping them to focus on their goals.

All members share the same purpose and the Launcher encourages each and every of its collaborators to, bit by bit, enrich themselves by participating actively in the programme. Each person practices and improves their competencies, undertakes activities which motivates them personally, gains visibility and widens their contact network through the professionals who participate and the intermediation with businesses.

The “Employment and Solidary Entrepreneurship Launchers” expect to add further pressure to the way of finding a job by changing the passive philosophy into an active commitment so that unemployed people can recuperate the hope and reinforce their confindence to find a job, discovering their abilities to start a personal project. Although there is a coordinator to motivate through 'coaching' techniques, the partcipants are the protagonists.

The professional gathering is framed within the last activity phase of the II Employment and Solidary Entrepreneurship of Calvià, which will conclude in October after five months of activity. Seven colleagues have found a job in this period. They have entered into contracts in various sectors such as commerce, services, education and leisure and free time activities. The Launcher's coordinator, Inma Alcina, has highlighted that this success is a result of the great work, effort and motivation of the participants.

The good labour insertion figures amongst the members are demonstrating the efficacy of the Launcher's programme. A total of 29 people are already working in the labour market, which represents a 70% of the total, amongst the 40 participants of the two projects which have already been started.

The IFOC (Training and Employment Insitute of Calvià) is a Calvià Town Hall's body, created with the aim of promoting the employment, improve the professional training in the labour and education fields, and promote the creation of new businesses which contribute to the socioeconomic development of the municipality.
