The Town Hall will widen the collaboration with the University of the Balearic Islands

A new framework agreement will be signed soon

The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, held a meeting this morning with the rector of the University of the Balearic Islands, Llorenç Huguet, to analyze the instruments of collaboration amongst both institutions.

One of the commitments adopted by both parts is the one to sign a new framework collaboration agreement, as the current one dates from the year 1996 and needs to be and remain updated. In this same field, it has been agreed to intensify this collaboration amongst the Town Hall and the UIB (University of the Balearic Islands), stressing two apects: the practice training scholarships and the innovation and investigation. Also, the collaboration with the CUC (University Centre of Calvià) will be intensified.

Another of the aspects covered is the possibility of facilitating the use of the municipal facilities to hold small congresses organised by the UIB, which will mean one more impulse to the policies started by the Town Hall to lengthen the season, offering a new and a differenciated product.

The Town Hall and the UIB have arranged to meet in future work meetings in order to set these and other projects.

On the Town Hall's part, also attended the meeting the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion, Responsible for Education, Nati Francés, while on the UIB's part, also attended the meeting the vice rector for Innovation and Transference, Jordi Llabrés, and the vice rector for Pupils, Graduates and Employability, Margalida Payeras.
