THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL SIGNS COLLABORATION AGREEMENTS WITH THE HOTELIER ASSOCIATIONS OF THE MUNICIPALITY

It has been agreed to promote the use of the municipal sports facilities in the mid and the low seasons

The Calvià Town Hall has signed a collaboration agreeement with representatives of the three hotelier associations of the municipality with the aim of diversifying the tourist offer, continue deseasonalising the activity and attract new demand sectors.

The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has signed the agreements with the President of the Hotelier Association of Palmanova-Magaluf, Sebastián Darder, with the Manageress of the Hotelier Association of the Santa Ponça Bay, Saskia Schwan, and with the President of the Hotelier Association of Peguera and Cala Fornells, Antonio Mayol.

The Town Hall will facilitate the use of the sports facilities of the municipality of Calvià such as the sports pavillions, indoor and outdoor swimming-pools, athletics track, rugby pitch, football pitches, etc to the Hotelier Associations. A 75% reduction will be applied to the price of the non resident during the months of October until April. The agreement has been signed with a validity of two years with the possibility of an extension of two more years.

The Hotelier Associations support and promote events which mean to provide an attractive and a dynamic offer to the tourists who visit the area during the mid and the low seasons, amongst which are highlighted the sports activities, championships, tournaments and specially the 'training camps', which are hotel stays of various days or weeks aimed at the sports improvement or technification, addressed to all type of sportspeople in which a team of coaches offer the possibility of enjoying formative and practical days including training sessions, talks, marches and conferences related to the specific practice training to be worked at the training camp.

The Town Hall wants to go into detail about the tourist promotion, creating opportunities for the municipality's effective deseasonalisation. The intention is to facilitate the commercialisation of the destination, increase the municipality's attractiveness, and that new lines of tourist products can be developed specially in matters of sports tourism during the mid and low seasons.
