BOTH, THE TOWN HALL AND THE REGIONAL MINISTRY FOR EDUCATION AND UNIVERSITY COMMIT TO IMPROVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE PROBLEMS OF THE CEPA OF CALVIÀ
The school year of the School of Adults, which counts with around 1.000 pupils in Calvià, has been inaugurated.
Both, the Calvià Town Hall and the Regional Ministry for Education and University have picked up the gauntlet thrown by the headmistress of the School of Adults of Calvià, Francisca Muñoz Solomando, to improve the centre's infrastructure in the municipality which gathers around 1.000 pupils every year.
This is how they assured it in front of more than a hundred people who attended the school year opening of the CEPA of Calvià, which first class was carried out by the Mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal who, under the title “El amor en 5 textos” (Love in 5 texts) explained how literature has covered the love topic throughout its history, from the Medieval times to the Postmodernism of the 20th century, passing through the Renaissance, the Baroque and the Romanticism; and how literature has reflected in each period the love emotion's evolution.
At the beginning of the event, the headmistress of the CEPA of Calvià requested the support of both, the Regional Ministry and the Town Hall, for a centre that, as she stated, “has the widest formative offer for adults in the Balearic Islands”. She recalled that it is an innovative centre, which was the first one counting on a Professional Training course or the first one having a blended secondary education.
On his behalf, the Regional Minister, Martí March, expressed the Ministry's political will to give answer to the infrastructure problems to improve the centre, recalling that it was one of the petitions put on the table in the meeting held with the Mayor in the last month of October. Martí March, highlighted that his department wants to promote the Schools of Adults on the islands, he claimed that “Education should be a political priority” and that “there is no educational policy possible without a policy of dialogue”.
Finally, the Mayor reiterated the will of the Town Hall to collaborate closely with the Regional Ministry. “There will not be other Town Hall wanting to collaborate more than us”, he said, at the same time he guaranteed that they will put all the efforts to improve the CEPA's infrastructures in this legislature.
An aperitif, prepared by the pupils of the School of Hospitality of the IES Calvià, was served after the interventions.
