THE TOWN HALL OF CALVIÀ MEETS THE COMMITMENT TO INVEST IN IMPROVEMENTS FOR CITIZENS

A series of actions claimed by the residents of Calvia have gone out to tender

Calvià's City Council launches a series of actions, that have long been claimed by citizens, thus fulfilling one of the commitments of the Government Team: to invest in services that residents pay their taxes.

The projects that the Town Hall has put out to tender are:

DRAINAGE WORKS ON THE PASSEIG D'ILLETES

This project involves drainage of the lower part of the Passeig d'Illetes in order to solve the problems caused by floods in this area associated with episodes of rain.

The bidding amount is 361,228.16 euros and the execution period is 2 months from the allocation.

With this action, the aim is to prevent that neither locals nor tourists suffer flooding problems whenever heavy rainfall events happen.

SON CALIU PARK REFURBISHMENT

This project aims to correct a series of factors that are degrading the park, as well as provide equipment to the children's playground.

The bidding amount is EUR 175,069.21, and the execution period is 3 months from the allocation.

The action involves the creation of a plant sound barrier on the side overlooking the supermarket, and restore the perimeter hedges that have disappeared. It also includes the placement of tables with integrated benches for picnic, waste bin, games for children aged 2-5, games for children aged 5-12, the placement of six benches in the playground (so that parents can overlook their children), and adequate lighting.

REFORMING THE SON FERRER PLAYFIELD

This is an action to condition the damaged facilities of the playfield for the use and enjoyment of the clubs and local neighbours of the area.

The bidding amount is 86,459.61 euros.

This action is due to a historical claim of the area of Son Ferrer. The project includes the rehabilitation of the terraces, adaptation of the disabled access ramp to legal regulation, a protective net at the ends to prevent balls going on to the road, the multisports court ground rehabilitation that is in very bad condition, and the update of the drainage gutters to prevent flooding when it rains.

BUILDING A SPORTS GROUND IN THE GALATZÓ RESIDENTIAL AREA

The project includes the construction of a sports ground in the Galatzó residential area, so that residents can have the facility at their disposal for sports.

The bidding amount is EUR 112,987.77, and the execution period is 3 months from the allocation.

The construction will be done in a municipal green area, in the Puig de l'Ofre street, and the track will have a total surface of 634 square metres. It will include two five-a-side football/handball goals firmly fixed down to the floor with nets.

LAMPPOSTS INSTALLATION ALONG THE CALVIÀ-ES CAPDELLÀ TRACK

The project includes installing solar lamposts along the Calvia-Es Capdellà track to illuminate the area.

The bidding amount is 195.000,00 euros.

A line of solar lampposts is going to be installed along this section as there is no electricity grid available in the area. A total amount of 45 six-meter-high self-sufficient lampposts will be installed along the 1,540 metres that the track has, that is, one every 35 metres.
