The Calvià Town Hall participates in the hiking days of the European project 'Rando pour la Culture' organised by the Consell de Mallorca. It expects to discover the Galatzó public estate on 20th April.
The Calvià Town Hall participates in the hiking conferences that the Consell de Mallorca organises to celebrate the continuation of the European project 'Rando pour la Culture'. Calvià, Sóller and Fornalutx are the three municipalities participating in the second phase of the European project organised by the Department of Environment of the Consell de Mallorca.
In Calvià, it is intended to discover the Galatzó public estate on Sunday 20th April through the route from Tramuntanal. It will be an opportunity to learn the traditional functioning of a mountain 'possessió' (estate) as well as the landscapes and legends generated around one of the most emblematic mountains of the island. Once the tour is completed, participants will be able to enjoy the cultural activities addressed to big and small. It invites families on the island to participate actively in the preservation and appreciation of the natural and ethnological heritage through the practice of hiking.
To participate, a prior registration will be required, since it is a free activity with limited places (100 people). Registration can only be done through the website www.conselldemallorca.net/mediambient/pedra. The programme and the details of the day can be consulted on this same page.
The Consell de Mallorca's Regional Minister for Environment, Sandra Espeja; the Calvià's Councillor for Commerce, Activities and Natural and Urban Environment, Paquita Muñoz; and the Councillor for Environment of Sóller, Pep Lluís Puig, participated in the press conference. They wanted to encourage people to participate in this conference and have valued "very positively this initiative of the Consell de Mallorca that will allow to connect the villages with the natural and cultural heritage".
