CALVIÀ TOWN HALL WILL EXHAUST ALL AVENUES TO PREVENT THAT SOME AREAS OF CALVIÀ REMAIN WITH NO POSTAL DELIVERY SERVICE
The consistory will lodge an appeal and will give support so those people affected can submit appeals individually
The Calvià Town Hall will lodge an appeal to the National Commission of Markets and Competition against the decision of Correos to leave with no postal delivery service, not only to Costa de la Calma (with an important population of 1,621 people) but also to such important areas as Costa d'en Blanes (with a population of 2,074 people), Sa Porrassa, Sol de Mallorca, Badia de Palma and Castell de Bendinat. A total population of almost 6,000 inhabitants.
The consistory considers unacceptable the decision of the national body to stop citizens of these areas without a service that is considered essential, for the inconveniences and damages that this might entail.
The Town Hall wants to make clear that it will exhaust all avenues to prevent this service stop so it will present the appeal against the CNMC and, in parallel, will begin a campaign of support to facilitate that residents also submit resources individually.
The government team understands that this is a public service, and will always defend the maintenance and the improvement of the quality of a public service.
