The 4th edition of K42Mallorca, which Calvià Town Hall organises along with the Hotel Association of Peguera and Cala Fornells and the company Projectes i Execucions Balears, will be held on Sunday 20th March.
A total of 800 participants will take the start next March 20 at 9 a.m. at the public estate Galatzó to face a new edition of K42Mallorca which takes place in Calvià. The race will be the biggest of the undertaken so far, covering the maximum number of 800 participants, divided between its two main races, 400 participants in the mountain marathon (K42) and 400 participants in the half marathon (K21).
Regarding the development of the main event, participants will ascend 11.5 km to crown Es Galatzó (1027 m), from there they will face a technical descent to start the second climb, this time to S'Esclop, the summit is located approximately in km 20 of the race. Another descent will lead participants to the last large slope, Ses Planes (450 m) from which they will face the last 15 km crossing the stream that flows down to Santa Ponça and the hard steep slope that connects this town with Peguera, place where the arrival will be installed, specifically in the square Torà, at the beachfront.
In addition to the high turnout, another of the race's attractions is to count on the presence of some of the best local, national and international athletes of the speciality. Some of the outstanding are: Sofia García Bardoll, Casey Morgan, Marta Prat Llorens, Jan Margarit, Manuel Anguita, Pau Bartolo, Mario Olmedo, Pau Zamora, Sergio Garasa, Andrés Rehm or the Majorcan Miquel Capó.
The celebration of K42Mallorca incorporates different parallel activities aimed at the knowledge and respect for the mountain, some of them are: vertical kilometre, photographic contest, mountain film series, pasta party, orientation days for school children, etc.
K42Mallorca is part of the prestigious organisation of K42series mountain races being one of the races that counts towards the Ultra Trail of Mont-Blanc.
In the organisation of this event are involved the Calvià Town Hall, the Hotel Association of Peguera and Cala Fornells and the company organiser of sports events, Projectes i Execucions Balears.
