Calvià 2000 increases the collection and cleaning services for the tourist season. At Easter, 19 new workers will incorporate into the service, a figure that will gradually increase until reach the 107 additional workers in July and August.

The public company Calvià 2000 increases from today Monday 21st March its collection and cleaning services in order to meet the needs of the hotel and commercial establishments due to the start of the tourist season marked by Easter.

As the season progresses and and the arrival of visitors increases, the municipal company will increase the resources dedicated to the collection of waste and, in particular, to the cleaning of streets and beaches, so that the quality levels provided are not affected by the increasing population pressure.

This planning, which is undertaken every year, is adapted to the reality of the tourist season and, as a novelty for this year 2016, the beach cleaning services will provide service for a longer time, since it is expected that the season will lengthen considerably, something that already happened last season.

At Easter, 19 new workers will incorporate into the service, a figure that will gradually increase over the coming months until reach the planned increase of 107 workers. Thus, in the peak months of July and August, Calvià 2000 will count on 220 workers directly working in maintaining the environmental conditions of the municipality in the levels required to meet the expectations of the residents and tourists of Calvià.

These resources will be used, mainly, to increase the number of waste collection routes and to strengthen the street cleaning services. In addition to the reinforcements above, also seasonal services will be launched such as the maintenance and cleaning of beaches, the scrubbing of pavements with water at high pressure and the wash down of roads.
