The Town Hall meets with the AMIPAS (parents asstiations) of Calvià to promote a reuse programme for the academic year 2016-2017

The Town Hall of Calvià had a meeting last Tuesday with the students' parents of the municipality, together with the management teams of public preschools and primary schools to develop a book reuse programme books. The intention is to launch this programme during the 2016-2017 course.

At the meeting various contributions were made, and the Jaume I AMIPA explained their experience that they have started this course.

Reuse of books and other educational material will reduce the economic burden on families in textbooks purchase, work on the idea of sustainability and ensure equal opportunities in the context of a quality educational system.

In addition other goals will be met, such as promoting the responsible conservation values for the equipment and books, cooperation, solidarity, the ability to be able to share the available resources, and giving the opportunity to build a social fabric in the school that promotes cooperation between families, teachers and students.

Last week the first meeting took place, as a first contact, to achieve a desired target for the entire educational community. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Mayor responsible for Social Cohesion and Equality, and responsible for the IMEB, Nati Francés, and the Councillor for Social Welfare, Mayte Albertí.
