The two new launchers will be aimed at unemployed people with ages that have special difficulties to access the labour market
Calvià will have two new Employment Launchers
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Director of the Employment Launchers Programme in Santa María la Real Foundation, Álvaro Retortillo, have signed the cooperation agreement thus allowing the initiative's start up.
The event was also attended by Silvio P. Sarralde, director of Institutional Banking of La Caixa, which Obra Social (Social Work) collaborates in the edition of this year's programme.
After the positive experience of last year, with two employment launchers aimed at young people that registered an insertion superior to 60%, the Calvià Town Hall again bets on this programme of social innovation, which in this edition counts on a municipal financing of 52,750 euros, and with the collaboration of the Obra Social of La Caixa which provides 10,000 euros to the project.
The Mayor, who was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor and Delegate for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés; and the Deputy Mayor and Delegate for Economy, Employment and Innovation María del Carmen Iglesias, announced that two new launchers will be aimed at unemployed people aged between 18 and 60 years old, with special emphasis on those that are in the range between 30 and 50, and who have special difficulties in accessing the labour market.
Will have preference those people registered in the municipality; although the participation to residents of the surrounding areas is left open.
Diverse profiles
They are not looking for a specific training profile, but may participate people with basic studies; coming from Vocational Training or having vocational certifications or university degrees. Likewise, no experience in a particular labor sector is requested; but the participation is open to people with diverse career paths of different work areas, with or without experience.
"Each launcher will be composed of a very diverse team, with the idea of banishing the direct competition, and foster the collaborative culture. We seek to complement each other, to help each other to find work, with new techniques, with new tools, " explained Álvaro Retortillo, Director of the Programme Lanzaderas (launchers).
The enrollment period is now open
The first launcher will begin operating at the end of this month, so the registration period will remain open until its start, scheduled at the end of the month of April.
All those interested people have two ways to register. What will they do in the launcher?
Once selected, participants will meet several days a week in the Son Ferrer Cultural Centre premises. (18 Astor St.). Guided by Inma Alcina, with experience in the management of previous launchers, they will undertake sessions of coaching and emotional intelligence, communication dynamics, personal branding and job search in the digital environment.
In addition, they will train job interviews and group selection processes, compile maps of employability and visit companies, to be known as professionals and have new job opportunities. All this with a clear goal: to help each other to find work, whether employed or self-employed, promoting their business ideas.
