The Calvià Town Hall signs an agreement with Endesa to ensure electricity supply to the most vulnerable families

No to energy poverty.

CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND ENDESA SIGN A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT TO ENSURE THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY TO THE MOST VULNERABLE FAMILIES

This is one more action to progress in the Town Hall's commitment to eradicate energy poverty in the municipality

The Calvià Town Hall and Endesa have signed a cooperation agreement to guarantee the electricity supply to the most vulnerable families of the municipality. Both, the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Director General of Endesa in the Balearic Islands, Ernesto Bonnín, have signed the agreement that facilitates the process of communication and collaboration between the Town Hall and the power supplier to avoid supply outages in case of non-payments because of economic difficulties.

This is one more performance to advance in the commitment of the investiture agreement to eradicate energy poverty in the municipality.

The signing event was attended by the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés; the Councillor for Senior Citizens and Social Welfare, Mayte Albertí; and the Director General of Social Development and Equality, Ana Pérez.

The agreement aims to facilitate the payments of families in vulnerable situations, to avoid power outages, either through municipal economic aids or requesting an installment payment of the invoice or its postponement to the power company.

The Town Hall's Department of Social Welfare, through the Community Social Services, will be in charge of making the assessments of the possible beneficiaries of the aids, based on an internal process of economic benefits that the Town Hall has already established.

From the moment Endesa receives the communication from Calvià Town Hall, that the holder of electrical service meets the criteria for being eligible for the financial aid for the debt payment of the electricity supply, the company will suspend the power outage of the affected address. Thus, from the municipal Community Social Services, they will mediate to avoid power outages to families of Calvià who can not afford the payment of invoices due to be in a situation of economic and / or social vulnerability.

This agreement is framed within the framework agreement signed between Endesa and the Felib (Federació d'Entitats Locals de les Illes Balears, Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands).
