XIII Europe Day will be held on Sunday 8th May on the Passeig de la Mar (beach promenade) of Palmanova.
The International Department of Calvià Town Hall organises, once again, the celebration of Europe Day in the municipality. It will take place on Sunday May 8 at the Passeig de la Mar of Palmanova. It is a popular festivity coordinated by the Town Hall and a group of volunteers of various nationalities, in addition to foreign associations -mostly charitable- of the municipality.
It is intended that the event, which is held for the thirteenth time, is an excellent opportunity for the whole family can spend a pleasant day full of activities and fun. It also seeks to increase social participation and improve integration between residents and foreigners.
The event will count with about 130 stalls in approximately 600 linear metres with typical food from several countries, local crafts and accessories. There will also be attractions for the little ones as well as music and stage performances throughout the day. Activities will take place between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
The award "European Citizen of the Year" will also be presented. The award is voted in the last monthly meeting of associations and foreign NGOs before the event. As all the associations are dedicated to raising funds and helping others, the member that each association deems worthy of the award for the work and effort throughout the year (naturally not its own entity) is chosen.
