THE MAYOR OF CALVIÀ AND THE REGIONAL MINISTER FOR EMPLOYMENT ATTENDED THE INAUGURATION OF EROSKI'S NEW SUPERMARKET MODEL
It is a new supermarket concept with a more personalised attention and promoting healthy eating, based on the supply of fresh food of the islands.
The mayor expressed his satisfaction with the fact of the centre of Santa Ponça being one of the first stores chosen to drive this innovative new model based on proximity and quality. Alfonso Rodríguez Badal wanted to highlight one of the most important values: the human capital of workers and their treatment with the customers.
On his behalf, the Regional Minister for Employment has congratulated the company for the investment of 35 million euros planned to adapt all supermarkets of the Balearic Islands to the new model, while stressed the respect of Eroski supermarkets for the Balearic product, the island's producers and their commitment to quality employment, as the 76 percent of the jobs are indefinite. He also highlighted the innovative character of the cooperative, an aspect that goes in the same innovative line -he said-, as Calvià Town Hall.
The event was also attended by the Councillor for the area of Santa Ponça, Nati Francés, and the Councillor for Commerce, Activities and Environment, Francisca Muñoz.
