New luminaires have been installed thus representing energy and cost savings and a reduction of CO2 emissions

More sustainable new lighting.

THE FIRST PHASE OF REPLACEMENT OF LUMINAIRES WHICH WILL SAVE 12.000 EUROS YEARLY AND WHICH WILL REDUCE THE EMISSION OF OVER 73 TONS OF CO2 PER YEAR, HAS NOW BEEN COMPLETED


The Calvià Town Hall has initiated the replacement of mercury vapor lamps by LED thus representing energy and economic savings.

In one first phase, 63 luminaries have been replaced on the Magaluf beach promenade, the 36 of Duc d'Extremera, the 37 of the beach of Son Maties and the 19 of the adjacent streets (Marina St., a Duc d 'Extremera passage and the playground of Son Maties beach), 155 in total.


The replacement of this type of lighting, will represent -only in these areas- energy savings of 86.500 kWh / year, which will result in cost savings of about 12.000 euros a year.


Furthermore, only with the installation of these 155 luminaires, 73,49 tonnes of CO2 per year will not be emitted.

The overall budget of this first phase has been of 88.560 euros.
