The Local Police has reported 824 cases of food street-selling

The Beach Unit of the Local Police of Calvià has reported over 824 denunciations against hawking throughout this Summer
This is the result of the strong and effective action that the Local Police is carrying out against the peddling of perishable goods on the beaches of the municipality of Calvià.
Of these 824 complaints, 49 have been reported on the beach of es Carregador, 81 on the beach of Palmanova, 81 on the beach of Son Maties, 396 on the beach of Magaluf, 85 on the beach of Santa Ponça, 19 on the beach of La Romana, 38 on the beach of Torà and 75 on Palmira beach.
Within the frame of these actions, last Friday having had information from merchants and users of the beaches of Peguera, on the concern about the presence of vendors of perishable goods, the Local Police of Calvià, implemented one of its regular police presences for the specific control of this activity, aimed not only to denounce sellers but to locate vehicles that serve them as storage and shuttle to its activity on the beaches.
Result of this police presence, in which acted members of the Beach Unit in street clothes and uniform, 4 cases of hawking were reported, and 2 shuttle vehicles were monitored, containing food products without the minimum health standards for it. In this police presence they were seized for its health inspection: 79 coconuts, 24 pineapples 24 and 23 watermelons.
