The objective is to convert Galatzó into an active and attractive public estate so that local or foreign visitors can have the opportunity to learn how is an ecological farming and livestock, sustainable, living and active estate.
APAEMA will perform, in a first phase, a diagnosis relying on the involvement of agents and groups, especially the primary sector of Calvià so they can feel part of the project.
The following steps will consist in:
The elaboration of the estate's Farming Plan of Action
The management and monitoring of the Plan
The olive grove recovery tasks
The fruit trees plantation monitoring tasks
The vegetable garden tasks, to plant local varieties
Tasks in the non-irrigated fruit trees and herbaceous fields
The recovery and viability of autochthonous breeds
Assessing the livestock capacity the farm can support
The management and monitoring of the beekeeping management plan
The Calvià Town Hall wants to involve farmers and the population of the municipality in the agricultural and livestock performances carried out in the estate of Galatzó.
Both, the Town Hall and APAEMA have signed a 12.980 euros contract to implement this ecological management system in the public estate of Galatzó.
