Visit of the President of the Balearic Islands and the Mayor of Calvià to the CEIP Jaume I of Palmanova

Visit of the President of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Regional Minister for Education and University, Martí March, to the CEIP Jaume I of Palmanova, to mark the start of the school year.
The Mayor said he was proud of the fact that, a school centre of Calvià “where we support the education along with the Regional Government” had been chosen to open the school year. The Mayor referred to the Jaume I centre where the IBISEC has carried out improvement works, as well as Calvià Town Hall has, " we want -he stated- that all the school centres of Calvià have the optimum level so that the public school has the level it needs. "
The school year has started normally in the 11 CEIPs of Calvià, where 3.333 pupils have registered. The Calvià Town Hall has carried out this Summer maintenance works in the schools prioritising the most urgent demands requested by the centres, with a investment of 350.000 euros.
The visit was also attended by the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, and the Councillor of Palmanova, Francisca Muñoz, as well as the Director General of Teaching Staff of the Regional Government, Rafaela Sánchez, who have been received by the centre's headmaster, Jesús Gabriel Nieto.
