THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL STARTS AGAIN FREE COURSES
30 YOUTHS WITHOUT STUDIES, UNDER 22 YEARS OLD, WILL BE THE BENEFICIARIES
The Town Hall, through the IFOC, obtains the allocation of two programmes financed by the Regional Ministry for Education and University
The Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC (Training and Employment Institute of Calvià), has presented, during this Summer, two projects to the Regional Ministry for Education and University of the Balearic Islands, which have recently been awarded with a total grant of 100,000 € , thus allowing 30 young people the opportunity to learn, during a school year, the following professions:
Electromechanical vehicles maintenance's assistant (15 places)
Trade activities' assistant (15 places)
They are training actions for youths between 16 and 21 years old who do not have the ESO degree.
The Deputy Mayor for Economy, Employment and Innovation, M. Carmen Iglesias stressed that: "Calvià Town Hall, once again, reaffirms its full vocation and commitment in promoting active employment policies, in this case, with the dual purpose of offering initial vocational training through formal qualifications, and improve the employability of the people of the municipality who present situations of greater vulnerability. "
In rough outlines, the training will consist of a programme of 1,000 hours that combines, on the one hand a professional itinerary (theoretical and practical training related to the profesison chosen), and on the other hand, a general agenda in which basic skills equivalent to the first cycle of ESO (1st and 2nd) are worked as well as the labour risk prevention and continuous individual and group tutorials, all through a teaching methodology practice, adapted to the reality of this group and closely related to the requirements of the labour market.
The course will begin in September and will end in June 2017, including a period of practices in a company. It is developed in the IFOC facilities, located in the Cultural Centre of Son Ferrer.
