Direct transport on request to Espases.

THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL RECOVERS FOR THE CITIZENSHIP OF THE MUNICIPALITY DIRECT TRIPS TO THE HOSPITAL OF REFERENCE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The Town Hall has signed a contract with autotaxis of Calvià and Palma, and Transabús for the provision of a transport service on request

The service will offer two daily departures in each direction

The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has signed a contract with Radio Taxi Calvià, Taxis Palma Radio, Fono Taxi, Radio Taxi Ciutat, and Transabús Balears SLU (concessionaire of the public transport in Calvià), for the provision of the travellers' transport service on request between the municipality of Calvià and the Hospital Universitari of Son Espases.

Thus, a direct connection to the Hospital of reference that existed with Son Dureta wants to be recovered, but that stopped given to the operationalisation of Espases. Now, the Town Hall assumes the provision of this public service with two daily departures in each direction.

The following timetable has been provided (it may vary depending on the needs detected):

9 a.m. Departure TM Calvià – 1.30 p.m. Departure Espases
3 p.m. Departure TM Calvià – 7 p.m. Departure Espases

The intention is to provide the residents of Calvià, especially the elderly, their trips to the hospital, without being subjected to an average of more than two hours per trip with the current bus connections, that include necessarily a transshipment at the plaça d'Espanya in Palma.

The nature of the service is to transport the users of the hospital services, their companions or visitors registered in Calvià directly, and it will be done through the means of transport on request, that is to say, the service will only be provided if it is previously requested by the user, who must call the day before to the Customer Service telephone of the Consortium of Transports of Mallorca (617 365 365).

Autotaxis of Calvià will provide those services with destination Son Espases Hospital -there will be a collection point in each area-, while autotaxis of Palma will provide those services departing from the Hospital. In case the user demand for a particular shipment exceeds the autotaxis seats, the service will be provided by Transabús with buses or microbuses that have sufficient capacity.

Two prices are established for the users:

Long tour: 5 euros (Peguera, Calvià, es Capdellà, Santa Ponçaa, El Toro and Son Ferrer)
Short tour: 4 euros (Palmanova, Magaluf, Son Caliu, Costa d'en Blanes, Portals Nous and Bendinat)
The Town Hall will fund the remaining amount of each trip.
There will be a collection point in each area:
