Calvià town hall has reinstated for the festival of "Rei en Jaume", one of the most important regattas that until recently was recognised on the national calender: The XVI king james Regatta will feature a host of activities during the month of september in the resort of santa ponsa conmemorating the landing of king james the 1 in Calvià.

The town hall, headed by Carlos Delgado, wished to reinstate this important event on the sailing calender which was a national emblem in years gone by.

This year, the town hall sponsored by López Raigal ConstructionsS.S. and under the organisation of the Santa Ponça Regatta Club decided to reinstate the regatta not only for historical and cultural significancie, but from a sporting point of view. There will be whith a host of soporting events for the Calvià residents to encourage local people to participate and practice the sport.

The regatta celebrations which will take place on the 16 th and 17 th of september will be open to RN Cruisers, Classic Boats and Platu 25 and will include coastline excursions and in some classes with inscription rights, a special time trial in the regatta.
