The Mayor of Calvià has presented a new edition of the Mostra de Cuines which starts this coming 7th October and will take place every Friday until the end of the month in the different areas of the municipality.

A new edition of Mostra de Cuines de Calvià starts

The chef Marga Coll performs a show-cooking to present the Autumn edition of the gastronomic display in which 43 establishments of different areas of the municipality participate.

The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has presented a new edition of the Mostra de Cuines de Calvià which starts this coming Friday 7
th October and will take place every Friday until the end of the month in the different areas of the municipality.


The presentation has taken place in the Town Hall's gardens and has counted with the participation of the cook Marga Coll who has performed a show-cooking for the attendees. It consisted of a prawn pancuit, Inca biscuits and her carpaccio. Marga Coll has been assisted by Javier Arés and Marc Barceló, cooks of the two restaurants she runs, Miceli and Arrels.


The Mayor has thanked the establishments for their participation in this new edition of the Mostra and stressed the importance of the event as one more tool in matters of tourist deseasonalisation. He recalled that activities such as the Mostra allow to boost the commercial and restoration network of the municipality, and encouraged residents and visitors to participate in the event and enjoy the high gastronomic quality of the restaurants of Calvià.


43 establishments participate in this edition of the Mostra, which every Friday will offer their best dishes, both at lunchtime and evening, with prices ranging between 10 and 16 euros. Some restaurants will also have a children's menu and an alternative menu. Table bookings in advance are recommended.



-10 restaurants of Peguera, Cala Fornells and el Toro will participate on Friday 7th October.

 

-7 restaurants of Son Caliu, Portals Nous, Costa d'en Blanes and Ca's Català will participate on Friday 14th October.


-11 restaurants of Palmanova, Magaluf and Son Ferrer will participate on
Friday 21st October.


-15 restaurants of Santa Ponça and Costa de la Calma will participate on
Friday 28th October.



The Mostra de Cuines of Calvià is one of the activities that the Foundation Calvià organises in order to contribute to the deseasonalisation of the tourist season. The Foundation aims at organising, promoting and conducting activities and gastronomic, sporting, cultural and social events that contribute to promote the municipality as a tourist destination especially during the mid and low season. Marga Coll

She studied at the Escola d'Hoteleria (Hospitality School) of the Balearic Islands and completed her training between 1995 and 2001 working in the restaurants Cavall Bernat (Cala Sant Vicenç), Ca'n Quet (Deia), Ca's Puers (Sóller) and Ca'n Penya ( Sóller). In 2004, she took over the restoration department of Amadip Esment and her restaurants Es pes de sa palla and Amadip Palmanova. In 2012 she inaugurated Miceli, her own restaurant, and from last Spring she also runs the gastronomic offer of the restaurant Arrels at the Gran Melià de Mar hotel in Calvià. She currently combines her work at both restaurants.
