A TEAM OF THE NATURAL AND URBAN ENVIRONMENT SERVICE OF CALVIÀ TOWN HALL ATTENDS THE X GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE RED ESPAÑOLA DE CIUDADES POR EL CLIMA
A team of the Natural and Urban Environment Service of Calvià Town Hall has attended the X General Assembly of the Red Española de Ciudades por el Clima, which was held in Granollers on 5th and 6th October. Since its creation in 2005, the Red Española de Ciudades por el Clima coordinates and promotes, with the support of the Spanish Climate Change Office, the Spanish municipalities' local policies of fight against the climate change.
The event has a special significance since it is an assembly where the spokespeople of the Governing Board have been appointed and the network's future lines of action have been defined, after ten years of operation. The conference "The role of governments to achieve the objectives of Sustainable Development after the Paris summit" and workshops to reduce emissions in the local environment, in the fields of energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and waste, were held during the course of the assembly.
About 300 municipalities are associated to the Red Española de Ciudades por el Clima. The Calvià Town Hall is part of the network since 2007.
