THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL WILL BEGIN IN NOVEMBER A NEW YOUTH GUARANTEE PROJECT TO DEVELOP ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES IN THE PUBLIC ESTATE OF GALATZÓ

The IFOC (Training and Employment Institute of Calvià) will begin next November a joint occupation and training project called RUTAS DE CALVIÀ II, a new activity framed within the Youth Employment Guarantee Programme approved by the SOIB and the Conselleria de Treball, Comerç i Indústria (Regional Ministry for Employment, Trade and Industry), and co-financed by the European Social Fund, through the Operational Youth Employment Programme for the period 2014-2020 of the Youth Occupation Initiative.

To carry out these actions, a joint committee composed of personnel of the SOIB (Calvià) office and the IFOC is currently interviewing young people under 30 years old to include 10 people who will be hired by the Calvià Town Hall.

It must be said that with the approval of this project, in 2016 four projects are being developed in the area of Galatzó, result of the collaboration between the Environment Department and the IFOC, demonstrating in a very tangible way the interest of both, Government of the Balearic Islands and Calvià Town Hall, to carry out firm commitments on active employment policies aimed at the improvement and enhancement of natural areas.

These initiatives combine work (through an apprenticeship contract of 12 months) and training (in several professional certificate specialties).

The project Rutas de Calvià II is the continuation of a project started in the month of February. In this initiative, we continue offering the professional certificate GUIDE SERVICE THROUGH LOW AND MEDIUM MOUNTAIN ITINERARIES (AFDA0611) and, as a novelty, we introduce the specialty REVITALISATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH EDUCATIONAL LEISURE ACTIVITIES (SSCB 0209), as well as job search, computer / internet, gender equality and environmental awareness complementary modules

This plan of studies will allow students to make dynamic activities of leisure and sports guidance to different groups (schools, families, associations, hikers and tourists) placing value on the importance that Galatzó has within the municipality and its unquestionable cultural, environmental, tourist and sporting potentialities that this place has, which is part of the Sierra de Tramuntana, an area declared by UNESCO as World Heritage in the category of Cultural Landscape.

Upon the completion of the projects, the IFOC will be in charge of promoting hiring through the Municipal Employment Agency or through the entrepreneur service.
