THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL PRESENTS 5 PROJECTS TO THE FINANCIALLY SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT PLAN OF THE CONSELL DE MALLORCA
These are proposals to improve drain systems, street lighting and a local road
The Calvià Town Hall presents the Consell de Mallorca 5 projects within the framework of the financially sustainable investment Plan 2016-2017, for which the municipality will receive a grant of 1.000.000 euros from the insular institution.
The projects presented are related to the improvement and repair of drain systems, the improvement of the road surface of a local road, and a performance related to energy efficiency.
Regarding the improvement and repair of the drain systems, the Town Hall has scheduled to perform in the avenue rei Jaume I of Santa Ponça, between the Mirador (viewpoint) of the Illes Malgrats and the Caló d'en Pellisser, to complement the drain system network and leave it ready for future enlargements, in addition to asphalting that area.
In Ramon de Montcada St., also in Santa Ponça, on the stretch of the road that links this street with Nunyo Sanç St., they will proceed to reform the drain systems to prevent flooding occurring on the premises every time it rains intensively.
The third drain system performance will take place in the avinguda del Mar del Toro, specifically in the curve of the low point of the street that also suffers flooding when there is heavy rain in a short time.
Another planned project is the reinforcement of the road surface of the camí de Son Pillo (between Ma-1014 and Ma-1), from the Polígon Son Bugadelles (industrial estate) roundabout to the underpass, at the height of the treatment plant of Santa Ponça. It is a road through which pass by many heavy vehicles. There will also be a performance to enhance the safety of this route, with the placement of speed bumps, since it is used by many cyclists.
Finally, the fifth proposal has to do with the improvement of the energy efficiency in the public lighting of the municipality. It is planned to replace mercury vapor lamps with LEDs as well as fix pipes and facilities in certain points of the municipality (in streets of Badia de Palma, Bendinat, Costa d'en Blanes, Illetes, Magaluf, Peguera, Palmanova, Portals Nous, Santa Ponça, Son Bugadelles and Son Ferrer.
The proposal will be presented in the plenary session on Thursday.
