THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL COLLECTS OVER 500 PROPOSALS IN THE INSTITUTES OF THE MUNICIPALITY FOR THE ELABORATION OF REGULATIONS FOR SELF-MANAGED YOUTH CENTRES

The Calvià Town Hall has collected more than 500 proposals in the various institutes of the municipality to develop the Regulations for the self-managed youth centres.

This first phase began on 12th September with a face-to-face explanation and debate performance in the classrooms, and that culminated in early October with the collection of this five hundred proposals, of which a large number are fruit of a collective reflection, that have been agreed between the pupils of different classrooms.

The Deputy Mayor for Citizen Participation and Youth, Fernando Alcaraz, pointed out at the beginning of this participatory process, the importance that the future Regulation for self-managed centres had emerged from the contributions of the young people themselves.

In this first phase have been involved the students of IES Bendinat, IES Calvià and IES Son Ferrer, where the presentations and debates were held, and where ballot boxes were placed to collect proposals. The second phase will be launched in 2017 expanding the participation of youth organisations.

The results will be published on the website of Citizen Participation that will be operational shortly.
