The Citizen Participation platform begins
Wednesday 2nd November 2016
THE PLATFORM FOR CITIZEN PARTICIPATION BEGINS
The citizenship will be able to participate through the web in all participatory processes launched by Calvià Town Hall
The Calvià Town Hall, through the area of Citizen Participation, launches the web www.participacalvia.es that will boost the participation processes of the municipality. It is a free software technology platform developed by other institutions such as the City Councils of Madrid, Barcelona, A Coruña ... and that in the Balearic Islands will be driven by Calvià Town Hall to make it available to other administrations of the islands.
From today, the citizens of Calvià can interact with their local council. Through this website you will be able to exercise your right to participate in the life of the municipality through different ways.
The Deputy Mayor for Participation and Youth, Fernando Alcaraz, wants to highlight the effort and involvement carried out by the civil servants of Calvià Town Hall in this new and pioneering participatory stage, adding that this tool is vital to achieve the citizen empowerment proposed by this government team.
Participatory budgeting
On the web it is explained the entire procedure that starts with the contribution of proposals to an email, which will gather all the initiatives that subsequently will be voted through the website itself, and after that the municipal technical commission has classified the different proposals.
Debates
Space in which the Town Hall will explain a theme so that the citizens can give their opinion to reach general conclusions or detect different approaches to the subject exposed. This form of participation increases the information of the participants in the debate and develops the comparative spirit of the members involved. Later, it is expected that the citizens can initiate new discussion topics that interest them.
What is your opinion?
It invites the public to express their views on issues that affect them, and that the councillors have gathered in discussions held with organisations, associations and neighbours.
The platform gathers all the participatory processes, such as the revision of Land-use planning, the drought Plan and links to the web of transparency and accountability, and with the municipal Plenary sessions.
