Events scheduled in Calvià on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
An event was held at 10 a.m. with the three institutes of the municipality. The students of the IES Calvià, the IES Son Ferrer and the IES Bendinat have read a manifesto prepared by themselves and which has been supported by the Mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal. The event was attended by the councillors of each area, Nati Francés, Alfonso Molina and Mayte Albertí, respectively, and the councillor of EO, Alfonso Rodríguez Sánchez. After the reading of the manifesto, a video recorded by the students of the institutes and workers of the Town Hall was shown, in which they remember the women killed throughout the year 2016 and by way of compromise, they ask: 'And you, what can you do?'
An institutional event of repulse of violence against women and remembrance of the women killed during 2016 in the hands of their partners or ex-partners was held at 12.30 p.m. in the Town Hall.

The adhesion to the Social Pact against gender violence promoted by the Government of the Balearic Islands and the Institut Balear de la Dona was approved yesterday in the Municipal Plenary. Calvià Town Hall was also present at the event against gender violence that took place yeaterday 24th November in es Born of Palma.
