EL AJUNTAMENT DE CALVIÀ WILL CREATE THE TECHNICAL ROUNDTABLE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ACCESSIBILITY

This advisory body will have the function of promoting universal accessibility

The Town Hall of Calvià will present at the January Plenary Session a proposal to create a Working Committee for the improvement of accessibility in the municipality, thus progressing with the fulfillment of one of the commitments of the investiture agreements, which will be treated involving various municipal areas and all municipal political groups, as well as other institutions, entities and associations.

The municipal body of new creation will be an advisory one and amongst its functions it will have to promote universal accessibility and the elimination of the architectural, urbanistic, transport and communication barriers, turning the accessibility into a tool of integration and equality of rights and opportunities, to achieve an improvement in the quality of life of both people with disabilities and the rest of society.

The 'Technical roundtable for the improvement of accessibility' will be headed by the Mayor or the councillor who he may delegate on, and will be composed of a representative of each one of the Municipal Groups; The technical coordinator of Maintenance and Roads and Works; The general directors of Urban Planning, Housing and Environment, Social Development and Equity and Sports and Sporting Events; The head of Social Welfare service; The Litoral coordinator; The managers of Calvià 2000 and Llar de Calvià; The head of the Communication Service; one representative of the Government and one of IMAS; representatives of associations that are dedicated to the people with physical and sensorial disabilities and of official associations of architects, technical architects, etc.
