SANTA PONÇA WILL HOST A NEW DESEASONALISING SPORTS ACTIVITY WHICH IS ADDED TO THE 'MALLORCA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS' EDITION IN THE MONTH OF MAY

-It will have a new beach soccer modality in addition to the two modalities of amateur soccer and for officials of previous years

Santa Ponça will host this year a new deseasonalising sports activity called 'Beach Soccer Tournament' for beach soccer teams. The beach football tournament is framed as the main novelty in the 'Mallorca Football Tournaments' event, which maintains the two modalities of previous years, one open to all types of amateur teams, and another for officers of police forces, firefighters, armed forces, customs, ministries and town halls that are held in the facilities of the Municipal Sports Centre of Santa Ponça.

The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has reissued the collaboration agreement with Fundación Calvià, Engels T.E.C. B.V. and Viajes Adramar S.A. for the celebration of a new edition of the event 'Mallorca Football Tournaments' that will take place during the month of May in Santa Ponça.

The modality for officials will take place between 11th and 15th May, and for amateur teams until the 22nd while the beach football modality will be played from 18th to 22nd May. All players are allowed a free day in the tournament to be able to dedicate it to know the place and the island.

The Calvià Town Hall promotes sports activities in the mid and low season in order to diversify the tourist offer and attract new demand segments. About 2,200 people between participants and companions of 38 different nationalities that were accommodated in the municipality, participated in last year's 'Mallorca Football Tournaments'. Based on the current reserves for the event, it can be expected an increase of participants for this year's edition, also taking into account the participants of the new beach soccer modality.
