3 projects that have given work and training to 30 young unemployed in the municipality have finished

3 YOUTH GUARANTEE PROJECTS OF CALVIÀ TOWN HALL THAT HAVE GIVEN WORK AND TRAINING TO 30 YOUNG UNEMPLOYED IN THE MUNICIPALITY HAVE FINISHED
After 12 intense months of apprenticeship and work, the 30 young people who have benefited from the Youth Guarantee programme in Calvià have finished.
The mixed training and employment projects have been managed by Calvià Town Hall through the IFOC with the participation of the SOIB and the joint financing of the State Public Employment Service and the European Social Fund.
In these programmes, aimed at under 30-year-old unemployed people, certificates of professionalism and complementary training of the catalogue of training specialties have been given, at the same time as, with a training and learning contract, works or services of diverse social interest have been developed, focused mainly on the improvement, restoration and enhancement of the Galatzó Public Estate, an area with a high environmental, tourist, cultural and sports value in the municipality.
The project "Puig del Senyor" has consisted in training the student-workers in the professionalism certificates of auxiliary in plant nurseries, gardens and garden centres and works of conservation and improvement of forests, as well as complementary training in labour insertion and job search, equal opportunities and computer literacy. They have landscaped several municipal public spaces and have collaborated in the forest conservation in the Galatzó estate.
From the project "Bosc de Sa Madona", the student-workers have been trained in the professionalism certificates of auxiliary works for the conservation and improvement of forests and auxiliary activities in forestry and have also received complementary training in labour insertion and job search, equal opportunities and computer literacy. Their mission has been to improve the area of Galatzó that gives name to the project, turning it into a visitable space.
And finally, the "Rutes de Calvià" project has provided our student-workers with the training for Low and medium mountain itineraries Guide and intensive English lessons, in such a way that they have been able to offer a guide service aimed at interested schools and visitors in our natural and ethnological heritage. Like the other projects, they have also received complementary training in labour insertion and job search, equal opportunities and computer literacy.
The three projects have received a total subsidy of 785,085.93 euros from the SOIB, mainly for the recruitment of young participants during the last 12 months.
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, the Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Commerce and Urban Planning, Antonio García Moles, the Councillor for Commerce, Activities and Environment, Francisca Muñoz, the Vice-President of IFOC, Alfonso Rodríguez Sánchez, and the IFOC Manager, Darío Espallargas, wanted to accompany the 30 young people on this special day, to wish them luck in the new path they are undertaken.
