27th , 28th and 29th January 2017 - Es Capdellà
The Natural and Urban Environment Service of Calvià Town Hall has promoted a course on introduction to the birds that takes place during this weekend. This activity, open to the general public, is distributed in 3 talks of 2 hours each and 2 practical outings of 6 hours in total. A total of 30 people participate, where young people, adults and families have the opportunity to get to know our natural surroundings and enjoy the outings made in the public estate of Galatzó, with the naturalist and educator Pere Vicens i Siquier.
The participants in the course were able to learn about the main strategies for adaptation and survival of birds, to know the main techniques of waiting and observation for the detection and observation of birds, to know the right place and time to enjoy observation of birds, as well as know how to choose and use field guides and binoculars.
The course has been widely accepted by the public and the initiative and development of both theoretical sessions and practical outings have been very positive, allowing us to know and enjoy the nature of our environment.
Due to the great demand of people interested in the course, from the natural and urban environment service, a second edition is proposed, in order to accommodate all those citizens without place in the course that is taught this weekend in Es Capdellà.
