The Town Hall and the IMAS sign two agreements for 149,500 euros

CALVIÀ SIGNS TWO AGREEMENTS WITH THE IMAS BY WHICH THE MUNICIPALITY RECEIVES 149,500 EUROS TO HELP FAMILIES AT RISK
Approximately 82,000 euros will be allocated for financial aid and more than 67,500 for psychosocial support
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the President of the Institut Mallorquí d'Afers Socials (IMAS), Margalida Puigserver, have signed two agreements to help families at risk.
For the first time, Calvià has joined the project of psychosocial support and intervention in childhood and family at risk, since previously only municipalities of less than 20,000 inhabitants could join in, so it will receive a line item of 67,618.89 euros. With the signing of this agreement, the figure of a psychologist will be added to the municipal social services teams to work on: prevention of risk in children and adolescents, intervention in situations of family crisis with risk of distress in children, situations of return of children to families after they have temporarily separated them, or other risk situations related to the mismatch of coexistence or deterioration of family relationships, amongst others.
The other agreement means that Calvià will receive 81,899.07 euros for financial aid to families with children at social exclusion risk and to people in situations of serious and urgent need, which objective is the coordination in the management of the financial aids to:
Families with children at social risk living in the municipality of Calvià, these grants are understood as specific primary care to prevent the separation of minors from their families and prevent their lack of protection,
People in situation of urgent and serious necessity, with special attention to the situations of eviction or supervening poverty,
People who are in a situation of need of priority attention, included in article 6 of Law 4/09, of June 11, of IB Social Services.
