THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL COLLABORATES WITH THE CONSELL DE MALLORCA IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PORTALS IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF MALLORCA
The Calvià Town Hall, through the area of Citizen Participation, collaborates with the Consell de Mallorca to implement the citizen participation portals in the different municipalities of the island. The Deputy Mayor for Participation and Youth, Fernando Alcaraz, held a working meeting with the insular Director of Citizen Participation of the Consell, Joan Alzamora, and the manager of the Consorci TIC Mallorca, Mique Lluis Mestre, with the aim of sharing the experience of Calvià Town Hall in the development of the Citizen Participation Portal PARTICIPACALVIA https://participacalvia.es/
Alcaraz shared the Citizen Participation Portal's implementation process as an innovative tool to facilitate the communication and active participation of the citizens of Calvià in the decision-making of the municipality. This portal was one of the main resources through which citizens have participated in the proposal and voting of the first Participatory Budgets of Calvià, in which the neighbours had the opportunity to decide on the implementation of projects for a value of 345,899 euros. The second Participatory Budgeting process is currently open in the proposal submission phase, for a sum of 893,542 euros.
Within the framework of the close collaboration between the Insular Department of Citizen Participation and Presidency of the Consell de Mallorca and the area of Citizen Participation and Youth of Calvià Town Hall, it was established the willingness to continue collaborating with the insular institution for the implementation of the participation portals in the different municipalities of Mallorca and the promotion of activities for the development and promotion of citizen participation.
The meeting was also attended by the General Director of Citizen Participation and Youth of the Ajuntament, José Francisco Giménez Sánchez, and the area's technician Catalina Morro.
