The Ajuntament will not allow the exhibition of alcoholic beverages in terraces and shop windows

CALVIÀ TOWN HALL WILL NOT ALLOW THE EXPOSURE OF ALCOHOLIC DRINKS IN SHOP WINDOWS AND TERRACES OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS AND PREMISES OF THE COMMERCIAL AND TOURIST AREAS OF THE MUNICIPALITY
It proposes the modification of the external aesthetics Ordinance
The Calvià Town Hall will present in next week's Plenary a proposal with the aim of improving the aesthetic quality of the premises and establishments and avoiding the exhibition of alcoholic beverages in the shop windows of aforementioned premises located in the main commercial and tourist localities of the municipality.
This is a further action to make Calvià a quality destination and improve the environment of the municipality, banishing tourism of excesses that had been installed over the last years.
The proposal is to modify the current Ordinance regulating the external aesthetics that came into force in 2006, and integrate new preventive and corrective measures that encourage the improvement of the environment, which will contribute to the achievement of the tourist excellence of the municipality.
The initiative aims to reduce the visibility of alcoholic beverages from the public way, as well as other actions such as reducing noise pollution caused by certain recreational machines, improving the accessibility of commercial premises and improving the quality of certain objects commonly used in the terraces of establishments and shops.
To this effect:
Article 7 on quality measures is amended to introduce new materials existing on the market that are prohibited and those that are not allowed.
Article 9 on alcoholic beverages is introduced in order to reduce the visibility of alcoholic beverages from the public way.
Article 16 is modified in order to include the prohibition of installation of strength recreational machines, understood as such "boxer", << kicker >>, << kickboxer >>, << arm wrestler >>, hammer-type-machines and equivalents on public terraces, private terraces for public use and establishments. The purpose of the modification is to reduce the noise pollution produced by said machines.
Article 24 relating to offences is modified to introduce a very serious fault concerning the display of alcoholic beverages, and paragraph 2 of very serious offences is clarified by adding recreational machines.
