The Galatzó estate hosts the first inclusive circuit 'Sumant capacitats' in Mallorca, giving possibility to anyone, regardless of their condition or capabilities, to enjoy walks in the natural environment
The public estate of Galatzó hosts the first inclusive circuit "Sumant capacitats" in Mallorca, giving possibility to anyone, regardless of their condition or abilities, to enjoy walks in the natural environment. The circuit consists of two routes, an easier one of 2 kilometres that goes from the entrance of the estate to the houses of Galatzó and another of 4.7 kilometres that will go round the Tramuntanal and optional rise to s'Argolla.
The day that consists of a non competitive and free excursion in the mentioned circuits, is an initiative of the Department of Culture, Heritage and Sports and the Department of Welfare and Social Rights of the Consell de Mallorca with the collaboration of the Ajuntament de Calvià, Creu Roja Balears and the Federation of Adapted Sports of the Balearic Islands. Given the great interest and large number of participants enrolled in this event, this activity will be repeated on Sunday 2nd April.
The first day was attended by the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, the General Director of Sports of the Consell de Mallorca, Margalida Portells, and the Councillors Antonio García Moles, Nati Francés and Francisca Muñoz.
During the activity, Cruz Roja de Baleares has made available to the participants "joellettes", adapted wheelchairs and monitors to help make the journey.
This activity, which has the support of the Ajuntament de Calvià, is in line with the objectives pursued by the town hall, as it contributes to bring all visitors, regardless of their capabilities, to the natural and cultural values of the public estate.
