Foster a smile, a Sahrawi child.

Tuesday 9th May 2017

The Vacances en Pau project will be launched once again from the AAPSIB, which will allow 96 children from the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf (Algeria) to come out of the high desert temperatures (reaching 55 degrees) and to leave behind the shortcomings suffered by them and their families forced to survive exiled for 40 years in a refugee camp.

For two months, these children will return to our islands to live with their foster families. They will undergo a medical examination to diagnose and treat the health aspects and thus avoid the development of serious diseases; they will know and exchange two totally different cultures, which will enrich both the foster families and the Sahrawi children.

One more year, the Calvià Town Hall has signed a collaboration commitment with the Association Amigos del pueblo saharaui (friends of the Sahrawi people) to collaborate in the dissemination, help to find families and offer free municipal summer services to facilitate the work and effort that foster families of the municipality make with great esteem and generosity.
