EDUCATION AND TOWN HALL WILL BUILD A NEW CENTRE FOR ADULTS (CEPA) IN CALVIÀ

The Regional Minister for Education and University, Martí March, and the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, announced yesterday the agreement reached between the two institutions to build a new Adult Education Centre (CEPA) in the municipality of Calvià.
At the ceremony celebrating the 30th anniversary of CEPA Calvià, the Regional Minister for Education and University, Martí March announced that "the agreement to build a new centre is framed within the commitment of the Regional Ministry and the Balearic Government to make Education an added value for our society. That is why, and after dialoguing, negotiating and putting all the buts on the table, finally the Regional Ministry and Ajuntament will build in the next years a new centre for Adult Education in the municipality of Calvià.
For his part, the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal thanked "the sensitivity and willingness of the Regional Ministry and Government to provide quality infrastructure to the municipality. At the same time he emphasised the commitment to Public Education and the permanent formation of people throughout their lives. The Mayor of Calvià announced that " in about two years the neighbours would have a new centre located in Magaluf where regulated occupational or continuous training courses will be given and a quality adult school''.
The Mayor also said that it is a challenge for the entire government team that is also part of the investiture agreement, since it is very clear the need to bet on public education. The Mayor also said that "every opportunity for education and training given to a child, a teenager, a youth or an adult is a window to freedom."
Soon, the Regional Minsitry and the Consistory will sign an agreement for the construction of the new CEPA of Calvià. Currently, about 1,000 students receive classes in the centre that this course celebrates its 30th anniversary.
