MELENDI CLOSES MUSICALVIÀ 2017 WITH A TOTAL FULL IN CALVIÀ
Almost 6,000 people filled Es Molí de Calvià fairgrounds last Saturday, enjoying a concert in which Melendi reviewed the songs from his latest album Quítate las gafas, interspersing poems, reflections and some of his greatest successes.
The great assembly of light, sound and audiovisual allowed a greater interaction creating an atmosphere and special connection between Melendi and the public, becoming one of the best shows in the current panorama in which both singer and spectators involved to give the best of themselves in an unforgettable concert.
Fernando Alcaraz, deputy mayor for Citizen Participation and Youth, organising department of the Festival, began the concert by presenting the Sick DreamZ group, second winner of the MusiCalvià Festival, prior to the beginning of Melendi's performance, who showed his most human face when from the stage and in the middle of the performance of one of his greatest successes, he did not hesitate to completely stop the concert to notify the emergency services that there was an incident amongst the public. Once civil protection intervened, Melendi repeated the song again with the same emotion and completely winning over a totally enthusiastic public.
At the fairgrounds, a special access platform was installed in a reserved area on the side of the stage so that guests from ASDICA, DISCASPORT, AMADIP, Fudación Deixalles and others with reduced mobility could enjoy the concert from a better location.
Calvià Town Hall thanks Civil Protection for its work at the concert, performing more than 100 interventions with its team of people who voluntarily acted in a professional way before all the incidents, major faints, that occurred.
In order to avoid plastic waste at the concert, reusable glasses were used that were delivered with the deposit of one euro, this way it was possible to reduce significantly the plastic waste and in addition 1,874 euros were collected, donated by all those people who decided to not return their glass, which took as a souvenir of an unforgettable night thus severally donating the euro in deposit reaching to collect 1,874 euros that will be donated to the organisation Casal Petit for the development of its social programmes to support women at exclusion risk and volunteering.
