BOTH, CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND CONSELL DE MALLORCA ANALYSE MEASURES TO SOLVE THE ISSUE OF BAD ODOURS COMING FROM THE COMPOSTING PLANT IN COSTA DE LA CALMA
Both, Calvià Town Hall and Consell de Mallorca are analysing measures to solve a problem that has raised various complaints amongst the residents of Costa de la Calma, due to the bad odours coming from the composting plant that Tirme has in the area.
The deputy mayor and councillor of the Costa de la Calma area, Mari Carmen Iglesias, and the councillor for Environment, Francisca Muñoz, met this morning with the executive councillor of Environment of the Consell de Mallorca, Sandra Espeja. The meeting was also attended by the Environment director of Calvià 2000, Pedro García; Rafael Guinea, general manager of Tirme, and its director of Environment, Amalia Cerdá.
The need to find solutions to a situation that causes inconveniences to the neighbours of the area was raised during the meeting, where they arranged to maintain regular contacts of a technical nature to see which initiative may be the best to respond to the problem.
The Town Hall has held different meetings with the residents of Costa de la Calma, and visits to the plant have also been made to ascertain its operation.
