THE TOURIST MUNICIPALITIES ALLIANCE STUDIES A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH THE HOTEL TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE

The eight municipalities have met again in the headquarters of the CEHAT in Madrid to continue with the work of a joint claim before the institutions

The Association of Sun and Beach Tourist Municipalities (AMT) formed by the Town Halls of Salou, Torremolinos, Calvià, Benidorm, Adeje, Arona, Lloret de Mar and San Bartolomé de Tirajana has met again to continue with the demands - many of them common - of these coastal cities.

Another follow-up meeting to continue advancing in the strategic lines of the entity was held at the headquarters of the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT) in Madrid. The meeting was attended by the mayors of Torremolinos, José Ortiz; Benidorm, Antonio Pérez; Salou, Pere Granados; Lloret de Mar, Jaume Dulsat and Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga - also as representative of Arona - in addition to the deputy mayor for Tourism of Calvià, Antonio García Moles, and representatives of the tourism area of the municipalities of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Ramón Suárez and other managers and technicians of the different municipalities.

One of the main topics that were discussed at the table was the study of a collaboration agreement with the CEHAT through the Hotel Technological Institute (ITH). Thus, in the presence of the CEHAT president, Juan Molas, the possibility of converting and sharing the CEHAT headquarters into the AMT's permanent headquarters in Madrid was discussed, working from the technical secretariat to launch the proposals to be developed in the coming months by the association in order to become a tourist lobby and continue to agree work lines and strategies to promote and respond to the common interests of reconversion, modernisation and financing.

New logo

The new corporate image of the AMT has also been agreed at the meeting, which will accompany the entity it in its growth and in all future actions.

It is a logo that combines blue, green and yellow colours inspired by the sun, sea, nature and beach sand, common elements of these municipalities. The imagetype is a symbol of infinity as a sign of a sector, the tourist, in constant transformation, and which in turn supposes the number 8; which coincides with the number of its founding members.

It was also agreed that meetings will be held every two months; the next one will be held, within the framework of the first Strategic Days for Pioneer Tourist Destinations, at the Torremolinos Conference Centre on the forthcoming14
th September.
