The IFOC obtains the award of two programmes financed by the Education and University Regional Ministry, whose registration period is already open
The Town Hall of Calvià receives through the IFOC a grant of € 100,000 from the Conselleria d'Educació i Universitat (Education and University Regional Ministry) for 30 young Calvià residents to have the opportunity to learn, during an academic year, the professions of vehicle electromechanicals maintenance assitant (15 vacancies), and hairdresser assistant (15 vacancies).

The training will consist of a 1,000-hour programme combining, on one hand, a professional itinerary and, on the other hand, a general set of subjects in which basic skills equivalent to the first cycle of ESO are worked, as well as prevention of occupational risks and tutorials, all through a teaching methodology adapted to the reality of this group and related to the requirements of the labour market.
People interested can obtain information and register at the IFOC offices (Calle Diego Salva Lezaún 2-6, Palmanova) or by calling 971 13 46 13. More information at www.ifoc.es and social media (Facebook IFOC - @ifocalvia) .
The Deputy Mayor for Economy, Employment and Innovation, Mª Carmen Iglesias highlighted the launch this year of the specialty of hairdresser assistant, a subject that had never been taught in the municipality and which has required a significant investment in organisation, logistics and training infrastructures and she has recalled that the Town Hall continues to work on active employment policies through training in order to improve the qualification and employability of Calvià residents.
