ES GENERADOR SKATE PARK OF CALVIÀ IS NOW READY AND RENOVATED

The Extreme Urban Sport Days respond to the support obtained in the Participative Budgeting of the proposal of a young girl of the municipality

The Extreme Urban Sport Calvià will be held on 23rd and 24th September at Es Generador premises (c / Voranova, 8 in Son Caliu), where a series of sports exhibitions of rollers, skaters and bikers will be held at the skate park that has been recently upgraded. Initiation and advanced training workshops, music, food trucks and disco roller dance will also be offered.

This public event, organised by the Servei de Joventut (Youth Service), arises from the initiative of the resident Esther Ramirez which was endorsed in the I Participative Budgeting promoted by Calvià Town Hall.

Fernando Alcaraz, Deputy Mayor for Citizen Participation and Youth, reports that the
Extreme Urban Sport Calvià consists of a weekend full of activities and workshops to enhance the commitment to the field of urban sports on wheels, urban graphic art, and the contemporary cultural and musical expressions.

The first exhibition on Saturday will be carried out by the Calvian Eve Jovino, the best inline rider of 2016 and 5th in the Freestyle category of the World Roller Games held in China in 2017. Sunday morning and afternoon demonstrations will be carried out by of Danny León, current number 1 of Spain and captain of the Spanish team for the World Roller Games of Barcelona 2019.

It is noteworthy as a novelty that the Olympic Games of Japan 2020 host skateboarding as an Olympic discipline. In the
bikers category, the world champion Rubén Alcántara - winner of the Cologne World Championship in 2000 and 2002 and chosen that year the best driver of the year by Ride BMX UK magazine - will offer exhibitions on Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, this weekend there will also be a demonstration of the Skating Club of Santa Ponça, the
roller Sara Iglesias "Bomba Hache", Patrick Sabater and the BCN Roller Dance group of Barcelona, amongst other attractions. The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez, will be present at the awards ceremony scheduled on Sunday at 8.30 p.m.
