The content of a Calvià 2000 rubbish van recorded an explosion in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate
Two operators have been slightly injured
The content of the Calvià 2000 rubbish van container has registered an explosion about 10.30 this morning, slightly injuring the two operators who at that time were placing a container in the back of the vehicle.
The explosion took place in Mar Mediterráneo St., while the waste collection team of the public company was making its route in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate.
Immediately after the deflagration, part of the cargo was burned, which was quickly estinguished by the van driver, using an extinguisher. Later, the vehicle was moved to a nearby field where, with the help of the technicians of the Calvià 2000 workshop, the rear part was raised and the Firemen of Mallorca intervened to make sure that the fire was well estinguished.
At the moment, the Civil Guard has taken charge of the investigation of the case to find out what could have caused the explosion and to refine, if necessary, responsibilities.
