Calvià Town Hall allocates 45,000 euros for its individual athletes


The objective is to help the athletes of the municipality that are in the training or technification process and that stand out in sport

 


With the aim of promoting and facilitating access to sport and its practice, the Calvià Town Hall allocates an item of 45,000 euros in subsidies to the individual athletes of the municipality, in relation to their sporting merits during the year period between 1
st September 2016 and 31st August 2017. 

These subsidies are intended to help athletes in the municipality who are in the training or technification process and who stand out in the sport they practice, but also those who already have an outstanding curriculum, such as Olympic and Paralympic athletes or those athletes who compete at national, European or global level.


Thus, Calvià Town Hall maintains one more year its commitment to sport. In the 2016 call, a total of 72 athletes benefited from this aid to finance their travel expenses and compete in official competitions, amongst other expenses that the high-level sporting activity involves.

The deadline for submitting applications began on Monday 23
rd October and will end on 6th November.

Athletes living in the municipality of Calvià and with future projection certified by their corresponding sports Federation can apply for the grants that are subject of this call.


Athletes over 21 years of age will be able to access the financial aid if they have an outstanding sports curriculum at a national or international level, so that their sporting merits play an important role in the resolution of the call. Calvià Town Hall will not grant any subsidy to those athletes who have a serious firm sports or doping sanction.
 

Applications must be resolved within a period of no more than three months as from the end of the deadline for submitting the application. The Technical Evaluation Committee will be in charge of carrying out the evaluation of the applications, according to the criteria established in the call published in the BOIB which includes the scoring criterion.
