CALVIÀ TOWN HALL BEGINS THE ACTIVITY STOPAGGE OF OTHER SIX PREMISES IN MAGALUF THAT DEDICATED TO THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF WOMEN

Parallel to the closure, files are being processed to revoke the activity licences of these brothels

Last summer, 6 premises that also exceeded the limits of their activity licence were closed

Calvià Town Hall carries out the notification procedures to close another six establishments of Magaluf after having inspected and verified that they did not comply with the administrative legality, since they exercised activities that exceeded the licence granted by the Town Hall.

The Local Police of Calvià has been able to verify that these premises, which mainly should be dedicated to the activity of coffee-concert, bar, etc., had been refurbished inside, dedicating several spaces to rooms with beds, restricted lounges and bathrooms destined for the prostitution of women. Also, the agents have confirmed the suspicions that the six establishments were run as brothels through the outdoor advertising of the premises and the dynamic advertising that during the summer is used to attract customers. In fact, the police interviewed several of them who declared that they paid to have sex with the prostituted women. The Paradise Lost establishment, in Avinguda s'Olivera nº15, has been definitively closed after having exhausted the administrative route with the publication in the BOE. Some of the other five investigated premises are closed in the low season, which makes it difficult to notify them in person and is delaying their administrative procedure.

Calvià Town Hall, after assessing the prostitution businessmen allegations and verifying that they actually exceeded the object of the activity for which they were licenced, has initiated in parallel the licence revocation proceedings of all the investigated and notified brothels.

During the month of August the Local Police of Calvià together with the Department of Activities carried out the closing of six brothels in Punta Ballena -
Apple, Bar Kandi, Opps, Red Rooms, Bar Touch and Jagger's- that also exceeded the limits of their activity licence, since they were mainly dedicated to the exploitation of women who exercised prostitution under the umbrella of bar or coffee-concert licences.

Work continues on the same line, following an inspection plan within the framework of the Activities Committee to sanction and close those that do not comply with the law.
