INFORMATIVE NOTE FROM THE LOCAL POLICE OF CALVIÀ
A young man dragged by the waves in Santa Ponça has been rescued
Civil Guard and Local Police of Calvià collaborate in the rescue of the fisherman
Agents of the Local Police of Calvià and the Civil Guard have rescued this morning a 16-year-old boy, who had fallen into the sea dragged by a wave while he was fishing with two friends.
A warning was received around 8.30 a.m. through the emergency telephone number 112, in which one of the friends reported that while they were fishing, a wave had dragged his friend and he was about 20 metres away the coast without being able to get out of the water due to the bad state of the sea and the accumulated fatigue.
Immediately a search device was activated consisting of several Civil Guard and Local Police patrols that were deployed along the coast of Santa Ponça for his location and rescue, since in the beginning the indications of his situation were not very clear.
As a result of the search device, one of the patrols spotted the young man in an area of rocky coast so immediately a boat supplied by a diving school of the Yacht Club of Santa Ponça, took the agents of both bodies to the right place and rescued the young man.
Once transferred to the Nautical Club, he was treated, in the place, of hypothermia and the different contusions he presented and was taken to Son Espases by ambulance.
