CALVIÀ TOWN HALL, COMMITTED TO THE NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES GENERATION, PROMOTES AND PARTICIPATES IN THE CONNECT'UP ENTREPRENEURIAL IDEAS COMPETITION
The Calvià Town Hall, within the framework of its incentive and business promotion policies, participates in the Connect'Up programme
Entities that, at the Balearic level, have shown a firm commitment to the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation in the Balearic economy, gathered on 10th April at the CaixaBank headquarters in the Balearic Islands.
This meeting, presented by the president of Grupo Serra and the territorial executive director of Caixabank, was attended by the vice rector for Innovation and Institutional Relations (UIB); the general director of Innovation, the general director of Technology, the director of the Fundació Bit, the director of Palma Activa, and representing Calvià Town Hall, the deputy mayor for Economy, Employment and Innovation, M. Carmen Iglesias Manjón. Also attended the event, on behalf of the employers, the CAEB president, as well as representatives of the Institut d'Innovació Empresarial de les Illes Balears (IDI), the chamber of commerce and the CESAG.
The objective of this initiative is focused on promoting the entrepreneurial spirit, through a business ideas competition that combines training and broad-spectrum activities.
The objective of this contest is to attract talent and projects focused on activities such as:
tourism, blue economy (related to the sea), biotechnology and creative industries (cultural, audiovisual and media). Entrepreneurs presenting their projects will receive prizes worth over 30,000 euros, as well as trips, stays in business centres, free courses and other benefits for their interest.
In this sense, Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC, is already informing the entrepreneurs of Calvià on this initiative, as well as it will have a role of sponsoring entity offering two prizes in kind: a free one-year stay in the IFOC coworking and a laptop.
Finally, the IFOC will participate in the activities called CONNECT'UP DAYS to be held on 13th and 14th June, at the Patio Casal Balaguer, which will consist of activities such as:
entrepreneurs coffee-fair, the presentation of 20 Mallorca coworkings, conferences, finalists elevator-pitch and finally the awards ceremony.
